I thought I would drop out of school soon after I started. Both of my parents are intellectually disabled and did not attend school. My dad tried to work to support us but he was not able find anything reliable. I am the sixth born of eight children. When I came to live at Kaptagat Children’s Home with my sister, Beryl, I was extremely malnourished. I was also behind in school. That was in 2012. I am attending the local university and studying Microbiology. It is a gift to be able to continue my education. I never thought this was possible.
