Ibrahim

My brother, Sammy, and I have been in and out of safe houses several times. Our parents are alive but they abandoned us. The area chief  rescued us to the safe house.  It is nice to have somewhere to eat and sleep but we could not go to school while we are there. My dad is a drug addict. My mom has served jail time in a maximum security prison. We do not  know any relatives who are able to take care of us. My life felt hopeless until my brother and I were given an opportunity to live at Maai Mahiu Children’s Home. I am now able to go to school and I am in 4th grade (Class 4).
