I am the youngest in a family with five children. Both of my parents are alive. They are HIV positive. My mom is my dad’s second wife. He takes responsibility for his first three children from his first wife, but not for us. My mom is depressed and abandons the family often. We live in a one-room house that serves as the living room, bedroom and chicken coop. The roof is worn out and it is repaired on the inside with cartons and sacks. Although those are worn out too. It is not a safe environment. I am thankful to live at Mahiga Children’s Home with my sister, Ann and brother, Samuel. I am not in school yet.
