My mom was never married.  She passed away from AIDS in 2001 when I was five years old.  I have two older sisters.  I do not know my father.  After my mom died I went to live with my grandparents but soon after I moved in my grandfather passed away.  I felt so bad.  My grandmother tried to sustain our family by growing vegetables but it was too difficult for her.  When I was 7 years old I was brought to Mahiga Children’s Home.  Now, I am in university, studying law. I never thought I’d have an opportunity like this.  I am so thankful to be living here where I am safe, loved and receiving an education.
